Location : Mohali is part of the tricity of Chandigarh-Mohali-Panchkula. When STPI-Mohali was set up in 1998, the IT exports from the tricity stood at a mere Rs. 7 crore and today they have jumped to approx Rs. 4,000 crore. Nearly 150 IT/ITES firms have registered with STPI-Mohali. This region has many entrepreneurs & startups developing products and offering services through a vibrant workforce of over 30,000 IT graduates.
Partners : The partners include STPI, MeitY, Dept. of Industries & Commerce (Govt. of Punjab), ISB, PTU, TiE-Chandigarh, CAN and others.
Target Beneficiaries: It is targeted to support & nurture 50 startups per year.
Duration: The CoE is proposed to be operational for five years from the date of its launch.
Financial Technology (or) FinTech has the potential to unleash a new era of competition, innovation and job creating productivity in the economy. Automative is not just about digitising money, it's about monetising data.
Budget & Source of Funding: The total budget outlay for this CoE is Rs. 20.92 shared amongst the stakeholders including MeitY (Rs. 2.5 crore), Govt of Punjab (Rs. 10 crore), and STPI (Rs. 8.42 crore).
